Four Bullets Later

Four Bullets Later

Three years after Tom Urbanski was shot and paralyzed from the waist down, he's achieved a seemingly impossible goal: to play guitar again in a band. (Las Vegas Sun)
Tom Urbanski was shot four times on February 19, 2007 while working as a bouncer at Minxx strip club in Las Vegas. The former pro wrestler and lifelong guitarist was paralyzed from the waist down. He and his wife, Kathy, tell the story of his rehabilitation, which was accelerated by his passion for playing guitar.

This Las Vegas Sun piece follows the Urbanskis, with an artful blend of stills and video, through the long and arduous recovery process. It visually captures the emotional and physical hardship of a chance encounter that leads to lifelong struggle — and the indomitable human spirit that rises above adversity.

Urbanski regained the use of his arms, and recently played guitar on a downtown Las Vegas stage with his classic rock cover band, the realization of a dream he’d had since the shooting. The name of the band? Four Bullets Later.
