85 and Still Kicking

Dorothy Dale Kloss, of the Fabulous Palm Spring Follies, holds the Guinness record for being the world's oldest performing showgirl. (AARP)

The Fabulous Palm Spring Follies is no ordinary dance line. The troupe’s energetic members range in age from 55 to 85 and they perform as often as nine times a week.

The Follies holds the Guinness record for being the oldest professional chorus line in the world. Member Dorothy Dale Kloss, holds the record—at age 85—for being the oldest “still-performing showgirl.”

Kloss’ fitness level surpasses most twentysomethings, and looking at her, it’s almost impossible to believe her career has spanned six decades.

This AARP video takes a look into the life of this plucky senior performer. Age is just a number, according to Kloss. When she hits the stage, she says, she feels like she’s 20 again.
